Bayer plans new pharmaceuticals facility

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. will provide engineering and procurement services at Bayer’s pharmaceutical production facility in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. The facility will produce the active ingredient cerivastatin in the drug Lipobay® (United States: Baycol(TM)). Jacobs will provide full service design and procurement services for this USD 200 million pharmaceuticals production facility, which includes pharmaceutical production, utility distribution, and administrative and employee amenities. Officials estimate groundbreaking in late spring of 2001 and full operation by spring of 2004.
